Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) functions as a carrier to transfer electrons across the membrane of mitochondria (the energy generator in the body's cells) to drive the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the fuel that energizes cells in our body. CoQ10 also possesses antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing properties. As an antioxidant, CoQ10 can protect proteins, LDL-cholesterol (bad cholesterol), and mitochondrial DNA from oxidative damage. Because of its function in the production of cellular energy, and as an antioxidant, CoQ10 can aid in the body's response to a host of health problems including heart disease, cancer, aging, neuro-degenerative diseases, and muscular dystrophy. Mitochondria are central to energy production and therefore fully integrated into the rest of the cell's physiological responses to aging. As the body ages, the cells become less able to maintain adequate levels of cellular energy production. Research suggests that L-carnitine raises the mitochondrial energy producing capabilities by reversing the age-associated decline in mitochondrial enzyme activities and thereby protecting mitochondria from aging. CarnisolQ10™ is a combination of Carnisol™ and CoQsol®. Carnisol™ is made with L-CarniPure®, the only patented 100% L-Carnitine L-Tartrate with no D-Carnitine in a micronized form. CoQsol® is a patented formulation of CoQ10 with superior absorption. CarnisolQ10™ is delivered in is a soft gelatin capsule, providing 150 mg Carnisol™ and 50 mg CoQsol® or 250 mg Carnisol™ and 25 mg CoQsol® per soft gel. |
